Outreach and Support
At CNI, we make a commitment to reach out to members of
the medical community and to anyone who has been touched by neurological
illness, no matter where they live. By providing patients access to the
latest information about research and treatments, the Outreach Department
helps the neurological community learn more about the difficult health
issues they face, and to make educated decisions about their options.
Colorado Support Groups
Sometimes, just knowing there are others in the same situation can make
a world of difference for a patient or caregiver. Having an opportunity
to talk to someone who has been through a similar experience can be both
encouraging and healing. CNI has several support groups available to
patients trying to cope with neurological conditions. If you would like
to find a support group for a neurological disorder - either local or
national - which isn't listed below, or if you know of one that we should
include here, please send us an e-mail.
You can find a listing of support groups by clicking on any link in
the list below. These are not CNI-related support groups unless specifically
stated. CNI-hosted Support Groups are listed in the column to the right.
Travel Assistance Program (TAP)
CNI understands the difficulty patients from rural areas face when they
need to travel far from home to see neurological specialists. Not only
can the trip be challenging but patients may also need a companion to
assist them. CNI's Travel Assistance Program (TAP) helps those who need
support with travel expenses and accommodations. Not only will CNI provide
expenses for the patient, but, if necessary, for a companion as well.
In order to access these funds, the patient must be sponsored by a CNI
physician member or CNI clinical staff member. Each patient must complete
an application form. The applications have a section for the patient's
CNI sponsor to complete and sign. The completed application and the sponsor
section must be returned to CNI through your sponsor.
Each application is processed quickly. At the end of this process your
sponsor will be notified if you will be awarded financial assistance
and the amount. At some time during your medical visit, your sponsor
will present you with the TAP check.
TAP funds are limited. Therefore, a separate application form
must be submitted in order to access funds for subsequent visits. Monies
are granted on a case by case basis.
Call us at (303) 788-4010 or e-mail Natalie Pyle (NPyle@TheCNI.org)
to receive more information or to request the Travel Assistance Program's
application forms.
