Warning Signs of Stroke
There are often specific physical and mental changes that can be associated
with impending stroke. These "warning signs" should prompt
you to seek medical attention immediately so that appropriate measures
can be taken. By recognizing the warning signs and taking action, you
may be able to avert a stroke or reduce its severity.
Remember!
- Stroke is a medical emergency - every second counts!
- Do not ignore the warning signs, even if they go away.
- Not all warning signs occur for every stroke. Some people may have
only one sign; others may have several.
- Check the time. Note when the symptoms began. You will be asked this
critical question later.
- When warning signs start - don’t wait! DIAL 9-1-1!
