CO-DOC Overview
CO-DOC, Colorado Digital Online Consultant, a collaborative effort between Colorado Neurological Institute, Blue Sky Neurology and Swedish Medical Center, is an innovative program that uses proven technology to bring the best of stroke healthcare to communities that need 24/7 acute stroke neurology coverage.
Neurologists at Blue Sky Neurology can be joined remotely by a site-independent, internet-based, HIPAA compliant, telemedicine system, to any hospital in Colorado. This connection allows the neurologists to provide 24/7, real-time acute stroke consultations.
CO-DOC applies technology proven to improve care during clinical studies in California and Georgia. The proprietary system, designed by BF Technologies, involves the installation of a portable monitoring machine in the Emergency Department of the remote hospital and a wireless laptop and headset combination that resides with an on-call neurologist. CO-DOC delivers smooth video from almost any Internet connection, automatic adaptability and error correction, dramatic zoom capabilities, with excellent audio and video synchronization and no echo. The patient and physicians both have two-way audio video. |
