Wellbutrin is not looked for on the standard drug test. Just like SSRIs, and many other types of widely available prescribed medication, it’s just not something that’s looked for. Drug tests to look for narcotics and abused substances that have implications, such as cocaine, amphetamines, methamphetamine, opiates, and barbiturates.
So as long as you are using Wellbutrin on prescription, or even off the prescription for something like depression, then simply tell the drug test company when they do the questionnaire before your test, and it will be ruled out if there is a false positive.
However, for many people this can be a problem, because they don’t want a prospective employer, or even a current employer, to know that they are using a medication for any reason at all, especially not as an antidepressant.
